Visit Safely

When visiting the Manx National Heritage sites we strongly advises that the ratio of adult helpers to students be at least 1:10 as a minimum as per DESC Policy for Educational Visits and Overnight Stays.

During a visit it is sometimes necessary to divide a large school group into smaller groups, each with an adult in charge.

Visitors to the Manx National Heritage sites are required to take care during their visit. Young children should be supervised at all times.

Teachers should do their best to ensure that their group is wearing appropriate footwear, as walkways may be worn, uneven or slippery at some historic sites.

Please be aware that historic sites can be hazardous and hazard assessments for Manx National Heritage sites can be made available on request.

Please note that Manx National Heritage provides free access to sites for teachers to conduct preliminary site visit for assessment of risk. To arrange preliminary site visit please contact schoolvisits@mnh.im
