Tiny Turnips Festival 2026
A playful Hop tu Naa session designed for under 5s at Cregneash Folk Village.
Expect a relaxed, hands-on morning with simple crafts, music, messy play, and plenty of space for little ones to explore at their own pace.
Activities are built around short attention spans, easy participation, and sensory fun.
What’s on
- Decorate your own pre-drilled turnip lantern using stickers, paint, googly eyes, and simple craft materials
- Sing, clap, and wiggle along to “Jinnie the Witch” and other toddler-friendly songs with Matt Kelly
- Hop tu Naa Sensory Bins
- Baby Area with toys and books
- Turnip printing using ink pads
- Make a skeleton picture with cotton buds or cotton pad ghost pictures to take home
- Join a mini-Hop tu Naa parade with costumes welcome or choose from the dress-up box
- Quiet corner with colouring sheets and stickers
Useful information
- Designed for children aged 0–5 years
- All children must be supervised by an adult at all times
- All materials are provided
- Messy play is washable, but we recommend that children wear old clothes
- Activities are flexible, so children can move between stations freely
- Pushchairs are welcome, but space may be limited in some activity areas
- Expect a lively environment with music, movement, and sensory play
