A fantastic introduction to learn about how important bats are for our environment, enjoy and evening stroll, and find out what we can do to help them. There will be a brief introductory talk and a demonstration of the ultrasound detectors that we shall be using. When it gets dark we will then set off around the area to look for bats and listen in on the secretive high-pitched sounds they use for echo-location.
If it is a warm night it might also be possible to detect bats flying over the nearby beach.
