A walk along the Heritage Trail from St. Johns School car park, looking for the healing herbs that are part of Nature’s Apothecary in this vibrant Spring season. Jane Prescott, The Manx Herbalist, will lead the walk pointing out the herbs, telling you about their healing benefits, remedies and the stories that are told about them. This will be a slow-paced walk and we will watch out for birds and insects along the way who rely on these springtime herbs too.

Meet by the gateway onto the Heritage Trail at the rear of the car park to the south of St. Johns School and opposite the Our Island Garden.  There is ample car parking available and a bus stop (No. 6) by the entrance. The route is a level tarmac surface but we may continue onto the Forestry Board track, which is an unmade surface and, if time permits, go back into the Our Island Garden.  Most of the route is easily accessible. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and the walk will go ahead in the rain, so bring appropriate coats and footwear.  The Heritage Trail is an active travel route and an awareness of passing bikes will be needed.
