Manx Wildlife Trust was founded in 1973 and acquired its first nature reserve at Barnell in Patrick parish in 1974. Since then, it has built up an impressive network of other 30 reserves across the Island, from tiny meadows to whole landscapes, becoming one of the largest landowners on the Isle of Man. David will provide an overview of this vital reserves network which protects almost all of the different habitat types that can be found on the Isle of Man. David will also highlight the ten reserves which are internationally recognised for having global ecological importance.
