What could life on our Island look like in 2050? Step into A History of the Future: Skeealyn y Vairagh, a unique, large-scale artwork inspired by the voices, ideas and imaginations of hundreds of young people from across the Isle of Man. Through a colourful graphic artwork and twelve original audio stories, you will meet the locals living, learning, working and playing in a thriving future where warm homes, healthy coastlines, local food, flourishing wildlife and connected communities are part of everyday Manx life. Look closely and you may even discover some wonderfully imaginative ideas, from a pollution-clearing sky vacuum to an Island-wide composting service.
Created for all generations to enjoy, this playful and thought-provoking exhibition combines art, storytelling, audio and Manx language and culture to open up hopeful conversations about the future we can shape together. Commissioned by Net Zero Isle of Man, produced by artists and changemakers Nionn Horizons, the project was made possible with funding from the Isle of Man Arts Council and support from Manx National Heritage.
