SEN (Special Educational Needs) Resources at The Manx Museum

We are currently developing our resources at the Manx Museum for visitors with SEN and their families. This includes trialling sensory fidget backpacks, which can be collected from the reception desk at the Manx Museum. If you would like to reserve a bag for your visit please email enquiries@mnh.im.

The bags typically contain:

  • Magnifying glass
  • Hand puppet
  • Rainbow fidget toy
  • Ear defenders
  • Sand timer (10 minutes)
  • Tactile balls
  • Wind up torch
  • Sensory gel tube

We have created a Manx Museum Visual Story to help you plan your visit.

The Manx Museum also has a dedicated Quiet Room, which is located in the Natural History Gallery.

The Manx Museum also has a Changing Place toilet.

We would be delighted to hear your feedback and experiences using these new resources.

Please contact Katie King, MNH Access and Inclusion Champion, Katie.king@mnh.im or call 01624 648023.
