Families with babies and young children are very welcome at all Manx National Heritage sites and are encouraged to explore, make noise and have fun. Many of our sites have hands-on play activities for families with young children. We also have events throughout the year to entertain our younger audiences.
We have baby changing facilities at all our sites and we welcome and support breastfeeding mothers. The Manx Museum in Douglas has a dedicated quiet room for parents to take a break.
Some of our sites use sound, film, low level light and life-sized displays as an interpretative tool and to create atmosphere. This can sometimes be scary and disorientating to younger visitors. Children’s torches and ear defenders can be borrowed at these sites to help with this.
We have prepared Access Guides to all our sites to help you plan and enjoy your visit. Each guide has a section dedicated to visitors with babies and young children.
