The Peel to Knockaloe Railway (1915-1920) by The Manx Transport Heritage Museum

In September 1915, a newly built railway line was brought into use to provide transportation of goods to and from the Knockaloe WW1 Internment Camp.

The 1 mile and 6 chains long railway line was in use from September 1915 until 1920 and was fully dismantled within 10 years.

Published by The Manx Transport Heritage Museum in 2018, The Peel to Knockaloe Railway tells the remarkable story of the railway that served 26,000 people during the First World War which at its peak was making an average of 18 round trips per day.
