– Posted on Monday 11th May 2026

Manx National Heritage has announced the launch of Calf View, the latest addition to its growing portfolio of unique self-catering holiday properties, offering visitors the opportunity to stay in one of the Isle of Man’s most spectacular coastal locations.

Overlooking Cregneash, the Sound and the Calf of Man, the newly renovated cottage combines heritage, tranquility and stunning natural surroundings, providing guests with a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Island’s southern landscape.

Calf View has been sensitively restored by Manx National Heritage as part of its commitment to preserving historic buildings while creating sustainable opportunities for people to experience the Island’s heritage and countryside.

The cottage joins Manx National Heritage’s popular holiday cottage portfolio, managed through Island Escapes, and is designed to offer visitors an authentic and immersive Island experience. Guests staying at Calf View will be ideally placed to enjoy walking, cycling, wildlife watching and stargazing, as well as exploring nearby heritage sites including Cregneash, Meayll Hill and the Sound.

Pauline Wall, Head of Operations at Manx National Heritage said:

“Calf View is a truly special place. The setting is one of the most iconic and peaceful on the Isle of Man, with uninterrupted views towards the Calf of Man and the surrounding coastline. We are delighted to bring this property into our holiday cottage portfolio and to offer visitors another opportunity to experience the Island’s extraordinary heritage and natural beauty.”

John Keggin, Commercial Director at Island Escapes, added:

“We are delighted to welcome Calf View to the Island Escapes collection. The cottage offers visitors a rare opportunity to stay in one of the Isle of Man’s most scenic and unspoilt locations, combining comfort, heritage and incredible coastal views. We are confident it will become a popular choice for guests looking to experience the Island’s natural beauty and unique character.”

The launch of Calf View reflects Manx National Heritage’s ongoing work to conserve and repurpose historic properties, ensuring they remain part of the Island’s living heritage for future generations to enjoy. The property joins Yn Thie Thooit at the Lhen, Eary Cushlin in Dalby and the Calf of Man as one of four unique self-catering holiday homes within the Manx National Heritage portfolio, with income helping raise vital funds for the Isle of Man’s national heritage charity.

The Calf of Man and surrounding coastline are internationally recognised for their wildlife and natural beauty, attracting birdwatchers, walkers and nature enthusiasts from around the world. The area is home to breeding seabirds including Manx shearwaters, kittiwakes and razorbills, as well as grey seals and other marine wildlife.

Calf View is now available to book through Island Escapes. For more information or to make a booking, visit: www.islandescapes.im/property/port-st-mary-calf-view
