Manx National Heritage Seasonal Sites Open for 2026

– Posted on Monday 23rd March 2026

Manx National Heritage, the Isle of Man’s national heritage charity, is delighted to announce that its historic visitor attractions will reopen for the 2026 season from Friday 27 March until Sunday 1 November 2026.

Iconic heritage sites across the Island will once again welcome visitors, including the Great Laxey Wheel, Castle Rushen, the Nautical Museum, Peel Castle, Cregneash, Rushen Abbey and the Grove Museum.

Visitors will be able to experience some of the Island’s most important historic places and collections, from climbing the world-famous Great Laxey Wheel to exploring the Island’s impressive medieval castles or discovering traditional Manx life at Cregneash Folk Village.

Guided tours of Castletown’s historic sites will also return on selected dates throughout the season, taking in the Nautical Museum, Old House of Keys and Old Grammar School.  The tours provide a fascinating insight into the Island’s parliamentary and maritime history and must be booked in advance through the Manx National Heritage website.

Pauline Wall, Head of Operations for Manx National Heritage said:

“Reopening our seasonal sites is always a highlight of the year. It is wonderful to see our historic attractions come back to life as our teams, volunteers and supporters prepare to welcome visitors once again.

Manx National Heritage sites offer something for everyone, from exploring castles and heritage landscapes to discovering the stories, people and traditions that have shaped the Isle of Man.  We look forward to sharing the story of our beautiful island and to welcoming residents and visitors alike throughout the season.”

Throughout the spring, summer and autumn months there will be a range of activities, events and exhibitions taking place across Manx National Heritage sites, offering visitors many opportunities to enjoy memorable days out and learn more about the Island’s unique heritage.

Extended opening hours will again be in place at the Great Laxey Wheel during the peak summer months, and many sites are also able to accommodate group visits and cruise ship tours with advance arrangements.

Pauline continued:

“We are also delighted that our new visitor hubs will be opening in both Castletown and Laxey in early summer, providing much needed retail, ticketing and visitor information facilities, offering even more to look forward to during the season”.
