To coincide with the introduction of same sex marriages on the Isle of Man, Manx National Heritage is delighted to announce the launch of a Wedding Competition, offering one lucky couple the opportunity to win their dream wedding.
The competition is open to everyone, and marks the fact that, for the first time, every couple, same sex or mixed gender, wishing to marry on the Isle of Man can do so at one of the island’s national heritage sites.
Manx National Heritage proudly supports everyone’s right to marry by offering a number of unique historic and scenic venues and wedding packages for ceremonies and receptions. Castle Rushen, Rushen Abbey and Peel Castle are licensed venues for ceremonies.
Together with partners Event Management Solutions Manx National Heritage has teamed up with Coastline Catering, Brian Mitchell Photography and Matt Fletcher Entertainment and Events to offer one lucky couple the chance to win a prize wedding package worth over £4,000.
The wedding package includes a champagne and canapés reception for 35 guests inside the grounds of Peel Castle courtesy of Coastline Catering of Niarbyl Bay Café and one hour wedding photography session of Brian Mitchell Photography.
Furthermore a wedding breakfast for up to 35 guests will be provided in the St. Patrick’s Isle Suite at the House of Manannan which overlooks the harbour and Peel Castle. This includes a three course carvery courtesy of Coastline Catering of Niarbyl Bay Café, a choice of three starters, carvery of three meats, vegetarian option and trio of desserts plus one glass of wine per person. Moreover there will be a choice of chairs, chair slips, table linen and decoration of the Wedding Breakfast venue including floral centrepieces by Matt Fletcher Entertainment and Events.
In addition to the wedding the lucky couple will also win a three night honeymoon stay in Manx National Heritage’s self-catering holiday let and coastal retreat Yn Thie Thooit, a peaceful coastal Manx cottage retreat at The Lhen near Andreas in the north of the Island.
The final date for entries is 4pm on Sunday 11th September, entries can also be submitted to those attending the Rushen Abbey Wedding Fayre falling on the same day. The winner will be announced on Monday 12th September.
