The Vikings lived in the part of Europe we now call Scandinavia and were Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. By the end of the 10th Century (900 AD) the Vikings were rulers of the Isle of Man.
The Vikings on Man loan box contains reproduction objects based on material evidence, some of which has been uncovered on the Isle of Man. The objects have been chosen to promote discussion and enquiry about museum collections and cultures. The objects can be used either individually or thematically to support your teaching of the Island’s Viking heritage. The enclosed objects have been made by skilled craftspeople using the Manx Museum’s Viking collection.
