Manx Tholtans- Rural life and Folktales KS2

Manx Tholtan: an abandoned house; a ruin of a building which was once a home; found in the Manx landscape. In this workshop which coincides with a special photographic exhibition, children will discover more about these fascinating buildings and traditional rural life on the Island. Discover more about the people who used to live and work in these remote rural dwellings; explore the atmospheric Folk Life Cottage in the Manx Museum and hear some traditional folk tales. Activities include storytelling, traditional crafts and using primary archival evidence.
Free of charge.
Morning 10am – 11.30am and afternoon 1pm – 2.30pm

Need help with your transport costs for Island schools?

Remember there are subsidies available from DEC for supporting Manx schools’ with transportation to MNH workshops and lectures. Schools should contact Jo Gibson Joanne.gibson@sch.im at DEC for more information on how to apply for a travel subsidy.
