Mann at War – Life on the Home Front during the Second World War

Join Barry Quilliam, one of the Island’s military history experts as we explore the Isle of Man’s involvement in the Second World War. Using real artefacts and first-hand accounts, Mann at War will focus on the impact of WW2 on Island life and examine the role the Island played.  Students will be able to handle real objects in this engaging multi-sensory workshop. The session will also include a tour of the Manx Museum’s Military History Gallery which includes a remarkable collection of stories, manuscripts and artefacts relating to the Island’s wartime past, from 1750 to the modern day.  During the session teachers will be given further guidance on how to discover more about the Island’s role in both WW1 and WW2 using Manx National Heritage’s free digital resources – iMuseum.im
