Art in the Abbey

About the workshop

Take a closer look for the peculiar properties of plants in Rushen Abbey’s medicinal gardens.

Learn how to identify your Feverfew from your Foxgloves to rid your patient of ghastly ailments.

Look at the use of plants in medieval design and colour your own quatrefoil (four leaved) design.

Perfect craft activity for little hands in a beautiful setting.

Sessions available-Morning  10am-12.00 noon and afternoon 1pm-3.00pm.

Teacher’s comments-“It is an opportunity for children to experience things first hand. All of the workshops are very hands on which is very important and enhances the experience.”

Need help with your transport costs for Island schools?

Remember there are subsidies available from DEC for supporting Manx schools’ with transportation to MNH workshops and lectures. Schools should contact Jo Gibson Joanne.gibson@sch.im at DEC for more information on how to apply for a travel subsidy.
