Vikings on Man 900 AD-1266 AD
The Vikings lived in the part of Europe we now call Scandinavia and were Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. By the end of the 10th Century (900 AD) the Vikings were rulers of the Isle of Man.
The Vikings on Man booklets below look at material evidence, some of which has been uncovered on the Isle of Man. The objects have been chosen to promote discussion and enquiry about museum collections and cultures.
The objects selected for the booklets, together with the web links to the imuseum.im website, can be used individually or thematically to support your teaching of the Island’s Viking heritage.
