Come and explore our tardis of time – from the stone age to the modern era, with interactive displays and films throughout the site. With more Viking silver per sq km than England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, head straight to our Viking Gallery to be immersed in the Island’s rich Viking and Celtic heritage. If the natural world is of interest, make your way to the Natural History Gallery.
The National Art Gallery contains work from a number of famous artists including Archibald Knox, William Hoggatt and John Miller Nicholson. Wartime internment is represented, including some amazing artworks by talented artists.
The contents of the Manx Museum reveal stories about how we have grown as a nation and also provide a constant source of inspiration for each new generation. By exploring this diverse collection with curiosity and wonder we can understand who we are, where we came from, where we live and where we are going.
There is also our National Library and well stocked archives for those visitors keen to explore the Island’s history further (open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am – 4.30pm).
For a special keepsake from your visit, or to purchase gifts to take home, there is a well-stocked gift shop within the Museum, or you can order online at manxnationalheritage.im/shop. 100% of profits from your purchase supports our charity’s work, conserving, protecting and promoting the culture and heritage of the Isle of Man.
