Manx Wildlife Week returns this spring with island-wide celebration of nature

– Posted on Monday 30th March 2026

Manx Wildlife Week is set to return from 25 April to 4 May 2026, with a programme of events celebrating the Isle of Man’s rich natural environment.

Organised by Manx National Heritage in partnership with Manx Wildlife Trust and associated with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man, the annual event invites the public to learn about and connect with the Island’s diverse wildlife and landscapes. Taking place at venues across the Island, Manx Wildlife Week will deliver a varied timetable of activities for all ages and interests.

This year offers a wide range of opportunities to experience nature first-hand. Guided walks and nature tours will explore habitats such as wetlands, temperate rainforests and coastal areas, giving participants the chance to learn from local experts. Birdwatching experiences will also feature, with both family-friendly sessions and more specialist opportunities to discover the Island’s rich birdlife.

A number of creative and practical workshops will be held throughout the week, including activities inspired by the natural environment such as paper-making crafts, alongside sessions focused on conservation and biodiversity. Talks and lectures by specialists will offer deeper insight into topics such as marine life, how to support your own nature friendly garden and the importance of protecting the Island’s ecosystems.

Families will be able to enjoy a variety of interactive activities, including outdoor adventure play and nature discovery sessions designed to engage younger audiences. There will also be opportunities for wildlife spotting, from bat walks and dolphin watching to exploring the uplands and woodlands across the Island.

Laura McCoy, Curator for Natural History at Manx National Heritage, said:

“Manx Wildlife Week is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to connect with the Island’s natural environment and gain insight into the species and habitats that make our Biosphere so special. Whether you’re joining a guided walk, attending a talk or simply exploring on your own, we hope the programme inspires a deeper appreciation of our wildlife and the importance of protecting it for future generations.”

Events will take place at a range of locations including the Manx Museum, the Curraghs and coastal and countryside sites, encouraging people to experience the Island’s natural beauty in different settings. Many events are free with donations welcome, or low-cost, making the programme accessible to a wide audience, though some activities require advance booking due to limited spaces.
