Manx National Heritage is inviting families, creatives and culture lovers to make the most of February Half Term with a vibrant programme of events running from Saturday 14 February to Sunday 22 February.
Packed with hands-on workshops, inspiring exhibitions, film screenings and unique heritage experiences, this year’s line-up promises memorable days out for all ages.
Art lovers can begin their Half Term adventure at the Manx Museum with the acclaimed Archibald Knox exhibition, celebrating one of the Isle of Man’s most internationally recognised designers. Meanwhile, the House of Manannan will unveil Art Adventures for Beginners, a brand-new exhibition curated in partnership, by the Isle of Man Arts Council and Manx National Heritage. Drawing from more than 400 works in the Isle of Man Arts Council Modern and Contemporary Loan Collection, this accessible and engaging showcase offers a perfect introduction to modern and contemporary art.
On Sunday 15 February, visitors can experience the natural world in extraordinary detail at the iMuseum. A special workshop led by Biosphere Photographer in Residence Adam Morton and Curator for Natural History Laura McCoy will explore the Manx Museum’s natural history collections through the lens of macro photography offering a rare opportunity to see the Island’s biodiversity from a striking new perspective.
Families looking for big-screen entertainment can enjoy a series of feel-good film screenings at the Manx Museum. As part of the popular Little Screen Club, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie will be shown on 16 February, followed by Dog Man on 18 February. Disney favourite Lilo & Stitch will light up the screen on 20 February, offering a heart-warming cinematic treat during the Half Term break.
Creativity takes centre stage at the House of Manannan with a series of interactive, family-friendly art workshops designed to spark curiosity through colour, shape, sound and imagination. On 18 February, Colour + Sound Sensory Fun invites under-5s to explore artistic expression through sensory play in a relaxed and engaging environment. On 20 February, Art & Drama for Little Artists encourages young creatives to experiment with drama, music and craft in a lively, confidence-building session.
