‘Hear Us’: Listen and Learn About our Island’s Waters

As the ‘Hear Us’: Sounds of the Sea exhibition closes, come and enjoy a unique workshop; there will be underwater recordings of dolphins and seals, limpets and pistol shrimp and much more. In an event that celebrates all of the partners involved in this project, you will get to meet the people behind the microphone and find out what inspired them to come to the Isle of Man and listen beneath the waves. You’ll also be able to chat to some of the people working on other Manx environmental projects such as the Blue Carbon Project, and to find out more about the vital role our marine habitats are playing in species conservation, carbon capture and environmental protection.

The workshop will continue with the time honoured craft activity of making pressed seaweed using flotation onto watercolour paper. We will have some of our stunning historical collection on hand to help with ideas and once you have made your damp, but beautiful, creations you can take them home.

The sessions, which are aimed at art, environment and science enthusiasts, give background to the Hear Us project- https://www.malcolmlowry.com/ and are suitable for anyone 8 years old +
