Luck, Lore and Legends at The Grove

Step inside The Grove and explore the traditions and superstitions that shaped everyday life in a Victorian Manx home.

From lucky charms and household rituals to beliefs about weddings, death, weather and the fairies, discover why people followed these customs and what they hoped to avoid. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of Manx folklore and learn how superstition influenced daily life for generations.

Join us for a fascinating guided tour and uncover the beliefs that linger behind the walls of The Grove.

• Suitable for adults and older children (recommended age 12+)
• Guided walking tour of The Grove and its grounds
• Please wear sensible footwear and dress for the weather, as parts of the tour take place outdoors
• The tour includes uneven paths, steps and historic surfaces
• Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout
• Standard admission charges apply unless otherwise stated
• Spaces are limited, so advance booking is recommended
