Hoggatt’s early ambitions were to work for a stained glass firm in his hometown of Lancaster, but after training in Paris and living in London, he finally settled on the Isle of Man.
Hoggatt found endless fascination in the Manx landscape whether in broad panoramic views of the hills or the dappled shadows amongst the trees in a wooded glen – he captured his own very personal view of the Island in all its varied colours and beauty.
