Prisons in England and Wales have weathered a succession of crises since 1947. Following the launch of his new book, Brendan O’Friel, Prison Governor during the Strangeways riot of 1990, will draw upon his experiences to explore the ‘unanswered questions’ arising from the chronic prison crises. Brendan will also take us on a journey of the connection to Manx prisons, including the period that Castle Rushen served as the Island’s gaol.
Doors open 1.30pm, talk starts at 2pm.
If you are unable to attend this public lecture in person, we are also offering the opportunity to watch on Zoom here.
