Free Public Lecture: Deaf and Dauntless – the Portrayal of Disability in Norse Sagas and early Celtic Literature. This public lecture by Gareth Faulkes focuses on how disability, and in particular Deafness, is portrayed through Viking sagas and what this can tell us about attitudes to disability in Viking and Celtic society. The lecture will be live subtitled.

Gareth was employed on the Isle of Man as ‘Deaf Champion’ and regularly offers advice and training on disability issues, including deaf awareness, the UK’s Equality Act, Human Rights Act and equality impact assessments.
