Nearly 100 years ago over 600,000 visitors arrived in Douglas for the holiday season. In this special lunchtime listen, transport yourself to the era of the seaside holiday boom on the Isle of Man.
Listen to the entertaining anecdotes from a multitude of people linked to the holiday trade on the Island, from boarding house owners to visitors who remember playing on the beaches as children using recordings from the Manx National Heritage Sound Archive.
Refreshments will be served whilst we listen to some entertaining stories of peculiar hotel guests and the antics that visitors got up to in Cunningham Holiday Camp!
