We talk so often of losing our keys but what does it feel like to truly ‘lose’ the key to your home? Homelessness is on the increase, whether through displacement due to war, mental ill health, bad luck or simply being born in the wrong place with no resources. The current state of the environment and economics are contributing to a crisis and more and more people are at risk or are fearful of losing their home; on a local and global level. Much rhetoric is espoused around the support for homelessness and this is where the cardboard key comes into play.
